Gerald Marion Helin, 75, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.

Gerald was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Thompson, Iowa where he grew up. He was united in marriage to Doreen Harmon. Gerald worked at Norwest Bank and retired in 1996.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Twins and Vikings, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Robert Helin, Robyn Arneson, Rebecca (Jay) Burke, Ryan Helin (Cathy Hemann-Winsky); grandchildren, Danielle and Aaron Deyo, Nicholas (Mindy), Mitchell, Michael, Nathan (Haley) Williamson, Dustin and Vannessa Winsky; great-grandchildren; brothers, Denny Helin (Carolyn Cox), Duane Helin (Barb), Kevin (Martha) Helin; sister Sandy (Ernie) Snelling.

He is preceded in death by his wife Doreen Helin; parents, Marion and Doris Helin

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father John Traufler officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service.
