Nancy Lynn Schwartz, age 63 of rural Blooming Prairie, Minnesota died surrounded by her family, Friday afternoon, June 3, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Nancy Lynn Harber was born Nov. 28, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert Earl and Doris Mae (Mellem) Harber. Nancy was baptized and confirmed Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church. She attended school in Blooming Prairie, graduating from Blooming Prairie High School in 1970.

On Oct. 6, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jim Schwartz at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church and to this union two children were born. They were later divorced.

Nancy lived and worked for several years in Albert Lea at the Holiday Inn and later at the Carpenter Company. She returned to the Blooming Prairie area to assist her parents as they aged and helped them remain independent. While living near Blooming Prairie, Nancy worked in the clerical department at Hormel Foods.

She loved to do puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and mind games and enjoyed watching “The Bachelorette” and “Dancing with The Stars” as well as figure skating competitions. Nancy also enjoyed eating out, working in her yard and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was an active member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church and WELCA.

Survivors include her children: Mark (Nicole) Schwartz, Austin, Minnesota and Jennifer (Bill) Tilford of Pine Island, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Gabrielle, Gavin and Cali Tilford; three brothers, Mike (Deloris) Harber of Austin, Dan (Liz) Harber of Waseca, Minnesota and Tom (Tammy) Harber of Blooming Prairie; two sisters: Jean (Todd) Lewis of Dothan, Alabama and Denise (Mike) Fogarty of Rochester, Minnesota; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Doris Harber and a granddaughter, Chloe.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 30456 Mower Freeborn Road, rural Austin, Minnesota with Pastor Lindsey Stolen officiating. Interment will follow the service in Udolpho Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 6 at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and for one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday.
