The incident happened June 18, according to the date on the dashboard camera video. It happened in Woodbury in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of the Woodbury Drive exit.

The rolled-up foam pad came free of the boat, which was being towed by a black SUV, and rolled onto the freeway. The motorcyclist appeared to try to go around it, but the pad rolled into the bike’s path, toppling it and sending the rider rolling on the pavement.

The woman who posted the video, Linda Leverty, said she and a few other motorists stopped to help. She said the motorcyclist suffered only minor injuries in spite of the violent collision.

She said the driver towing the boat never stopped or turned back to the scene.
