MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are urging citizens with information about a fatal shooting overnight to come forward.

Officers responded to the sounds of muffled gunshots about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. They were flagged down by a person who wanted officers to check on someone inside one of the homes who was believed to be injured.

Police say officers went into the house and found an adult male dead in an apparent shooting.

Detectives brought in police dogs to help look for evidence as they canvassed the neighborhood.
