Lillian Helen Johnson, 74

Lillian Helen Johnson, 74, formerly of Sargeant, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

Lillian was born on May 6, 1942, in Orange City, Iowa the daughter of Bert and Tillie (Bremer) Oldenkamp. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended Austin Junior College. Lillian was united in marriage to Neil Johnson on March 19, 1966, in Brownsdale.  Lillian and her husband lived in the Sargeant area for many years and raised livestock.

Lillian enjoyed traveling, raising children and grandchildren, caring for her animals, being a farm wife, especially doing field work.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and Bible School teacher.

Lillian is survived by her children, Marlene (Robert) Heinz, LaSalle, Illinois; Wesley (Dondee) Johnson, Sargeant, Minnesota; and Linda (Arlie) Brandmeyer, Ankeny, Iowa; three grandchildren, Sydney, Aaron Brandmeyer, Ankeny, Iowa; Bryce Johnson, Sargeant, Minnesota; and great grandchildren, Kelsey, Carly and Lucas Johnson; siblings, Sadie Anderson, Austin, Minnesota; Herman Oldenkamp, Oakland, Minnesota; Henry (Barb) Oldenkamp, Oakland, Minnesota; Howard (Gayle) Oldenkamp, Austin, Minnesota; and Evelyn (Jeff) Murray, Worthington, Minnesota.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Neil and infant sister, Linda Marlene Oldenkamp.

The funeral service for Lillian will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, 206 East Main Street in Brownsdale, Minnesota, with Pastor Ken Petzold officiating. Interment will be in Waltham Township Cemetery in rural Waltham.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd St. NW in Hayfield, Minnesota.

The family prefers memorials to Waltham Township Cemetery or donor’s choice.
