Grace Gregg, 91, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin.

Grace was born on Oct.11, 1924, in Reasnor, Iowa to Fredrick and Grace (Bos) Diekema. She grew up in Hollandale and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Grace married Wesley Gregg on Nov.15, 1945.

Grace worked for 22 years as a nursing assistant at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home. Her favorite job was being a grandma and great grandma and family was her biggest priority. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wesley, brothers Arthur Diekema and Dick Diekema and sister Mary Finholdt.

Grace is survived by her children: Milla (Gary) Applen, Austin, Minnesota; Fred Gregg and Ann Kendrick, Austin, Minnesota; Kathy Gregg, Austin, Minnesota; and Norma (Terry) Plath, Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren: Laurie (Jeff) Cooper; David Applen; Terrance Plath and Tara Scott; and Alex Plath; great grandchild: Benjamin Cooper; nieces and nephews; and her Sacred Heart family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Reverend Catherine Lemons officiating. Private family interment will be held at Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Wednesday for one hour before the service.
