Eastbound Interstate 90 motorists in Austin will encounter a left lane closure beginning on Monday, June 27, as crews repair concrete pavement, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The left lane of I-90 will be closed through most of Austin as crews conduct repairs to the pavement. The closure stretches from exit 175 at Highway 105/Oakland Avenue West to exit 183 at Highway 56. Work is expected to be completed July 1.

In places, the pavement will be removed and replaced.

During the process the lane will have gaps and breaks, which is why traffic will be restricted to a single lane in the eastbound lanes.

No restrictions will be placed for westbound traffic. In July, similar work will be done on the right eastbound lane.

To learn more about the repair process, go to MnDOT’s Road Knowledge page at www.dot.state.mn.us/information/roads/cpr.html.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
