Dr. Tim Rietz to retire after 37 years; Open house planned for July 4

After 37 years of providing care to patients in the Austin area, Dr. Tim Rietz is retiring from Mayo Clinic Health System on July 29.

Rietz has spent his entire career in Austin providing care to thousands of patients. He and his wife, Bonnie, former Austin mayor, have also enjoyed being a part of the Austin community volunteering in numerous projects and organizations.

To honor Rietz’s years of service and his upcoming retirement, a reception will be held on Monday, July 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Austin Artworks Center, 300 N. Main Street, Austin. This event is open to the public.

Rietz is also known for taking many pictures around town and at community events like the Austin ArtWorks Festival. A few of his photos are also on display at the medical center.
