ST. CLOUD — A woman from central Minnesota is in jail after authorities say she let a large dog out of her pickup truck and the animal bit a sheriff’s deputy.
The Stearns County sheriff’s office says the 24-year-old woman from Brooten also kicked a Sauk Centre police officer in the head during her arrest Thursday.
A farm owner had reported a woman was in his yard “whipping doughnuts” in a pickup truck and acting strangely. The deputy found the woman screaming on top of the pickup. When he talked the woman into getting off the truck, authorities say she let a mastiff out of the pickup, and it bit the deputy in the left leg.
The Star Tribune reports the woman remained jailed Sunday. The dog was put in quarantine.
