Allen E. Belden, 51, of Austin, Minnesota, died at his mother’s home on Sunday, June 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving family after a two-year battle with cancer.

Allen Edward Belden was born on Dec. 10, 1964, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Harold C. and Jannette (Emery) Belden.  He graduated from Pacelli High School, Riverland Community College and from business school at Fargo, North Dakota. He served in the Minnesota National Guard.  Allen married Kimberly Jo Shaw on March 16, 1991, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin.  They have lived in the Austin area and Allen was employed as a mechanical technician for Akkerman Inc. of Brownsdale, Minnesota.  He traveled throughout the United States and world wide with his job.

Allen was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, The American Legion, the Eagles Club and served as Scout Master for Troop 109. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Al was also a demolition derby fan and had been a driver over the years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Kendra Jo, father Harold, Sr. and brother Harold, Jr.

Allen is survived by his wife, Kimberly Belden, Austin, Minnesota; children, Adam Belden and fiancée Hailey Hughson-Farrell, Shareena Belden and fiancé Logan Boyd, Colin Belden, Thaddeus Belden, Joshua Belden, Andrew Belden and Liana Belden, all of Austin; mother, Jannette Belden, Austin, Minnesota; sister, Diane Otterson, Killen, Texas; brother, Martin Belden, Austin, Minnesota; sister, Barbara (Brian) Prentis, Austin, Minnesota; brothers, Anthony (Lisa) Belden, Austin, Minnesota, and Matthew (Patsi) Belden, Austin, Minnesota; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leslie and Betty Shaw, Austin, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Kevin Shaw, Riverview, Florida; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Intern Pastor Lisa Meshke officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Austin Post No. 91, American Legion in charge of military honors. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service on Thursday.

Casket bearers will be Adam Belden, Colin Belden, Thaddeus Belden, Joshua Belden, Andrew Belden and Logan Boyd.
