The Spring Used Book Sale returns to the large meeting room of Austin Public Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

“It’s such a community event and people have such a good time while they’re there,” Friends of the Library PR Chairperson Dorothy Krob said.

Adult hardcover books cost $2, children’s hardcover books cost $1 and all paperbacks cost 50 cents. The sale will also feature many DCDs, VHS tapes and CDs, and Krob noted this year’s sale will feature many current movies on DVD.

The sale is co-hosted by the American Association of University Woman (AAUW) and the Friends of the Austin Public Library. The two split the money raised, with AAUW’s funds going toward Riverland Community College scholarships and the friends’ funds going toward library projects and programing.

AAUW co-chars are Peggy Keener and Rose McCarthy, and Friends of the Library co-chairs are Joyce Goetz and Laura Tjomsland.
