Nancy Jo Larson, 50, of Owatonna, died May 23, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born June 14, 1965, in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Donna (Roy) McNamee. Nancy moved to Owatonna at the age of 2 and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1983.

She married Alan G. Larson Jan. 24, 2003. Alan and Nancy were blessed with two wonderful children, Ashli Jo and Andrew Alan. With her husband Alan’s death in 2004, Nancy did a fantastic job fulfilling the parenting role for their kids, being a loving mother and fierce supporter and cheerleader of Ashli and Andrew through all their childhood activities.

Nancy’s children were her life; she loved and cherished them above all else. She was there for them every day and never missed an event. Her favorite things to do were watching her kids and cheering them on in all their activities, including basketball, gymnastics, soccer, band concerts, going to Timberwolves games and all school events. Nancy took her children on many vacations, including trips to Orlando, San Diego, Disneyland, Okoboji and Northern Minnesota. Nancy loved capturing her kids in action with thousands of pictures and videos that will be cherished for years to come. She also enjoyed golfing, dancing, especially with her kids, playing with the family cat, Ramone (Momo), and listening to Joel Osteen.

Nancy worked at Minnesota Prairie County Alliance and enjoyed the friendship of her coworkers for many years.

She is survived by her children Ashli and Andrew, Owatonna, her husband’s sister, Lori, Rochester, his parents, Loris (Lars) and Dorothy Larson, Austin, Minnesota, his brother and wife, Arlin and Faith Larson, their sons, Seth and Jacob, Minneapolis. Her brother, Pat McNamee and wife Jodie Spirer, their daughter, Rachel and husband Peter Doely, St. Paul, and daughter, Hannah, Madison, Wisconsin. Brother, Dennis (Mac) and wife Robin McNamee, their sons, Shannon and wife Nicole and children Peyton and Baya, Owatonna, Ryan and wife Nyki and children, Zoe and Marley, Andover. Her sister, Teresa (Terry) and husband Duane Wallin, and nephews, Mankato.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Alan Larson, and her parents.

Visitation will be held at Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Rd.) from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday on May 26, 2016, and one hour before the funeral service. Funeral service is set for 1 p.m. on Friday May 27, 2016, at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home, with Rev. Edward McGrath presiding. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna.
