Margaret was born Jan. 4 1930, on the family homestead in northern Minnesota. Her family moved to Austin, Minnesota, when they lost their farm in 1938. Margaret excelled academically. She graduated from Austin High School in 1948. She received her Bachelors of Nursing degree from the University of Minnesota, in 1959.

She married Roger in 1960. They had two children, John (Bryan) and Kim.

The family moved overseas when Roger became a foreign service officer. They lived in England, Israel, South Africa and Malaysia. Margaret learned brass rubbing and studied archeology. She loved bird watching and went on several safaris in southern Africa. Margaret was an avid reader and an exceptional tour guide.

Margaret was a devoted Christian. She participated in Christian Women’s Clubs and bible studies in several countries.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Paul and her son, Bryan. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her daughter, Kim; and her grandchildren, Sarah and Jordan.

The family is holding a small gathering at the Grandview Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016. A reception will follow at the Holiday Inn at 3 p.m. Friends are welcome.
