Austin graduate honored

A 2002 AHS graduate, Jim Knoebel, was chosen to be one of the teachers of excellence for the 2015-2016 school year.

Jim is the Department Head of the Special Education Department at Soldotna High School in Alaska. Jim runs a structured resource room where most of the students are high functioning in the Autism Spectrum or have some type of mental illness. Also for the past four years he has been the assistant coach for the girls softball team. Jim’s wife, Kelli, is the Head girls softball coach. The team qualified for state this year. Assisting the girls grow and develop as ballplayers has been an exciting experience for everyone involved.
