CMG All Stars win tourney

The Austin CMG 12-year-old All Stars, won the Albert Lea tourney over the weekend as they beat host Albert Lea 4-0 in the title game.

Teegan Finley’s  two-run hit in the third inning broke a scoreless tie to lead the All Stars to the title win.

The CMG Stars opened play with an 11-4 win over Maple River as Riley Eckhoff belted a three-run home run.

The Stars then topped Stewartville 7-0 and Albert Lea 8-3 to earn the title bid.

“Our pitchers, Mac Nelson, Brendan Kennedy, Lathan Wilson, Payton Ransom, Jared Lillemon and Dustin Copley were excellent,” said coach Dan Ransom.

The CMG All-Stars will be in Rochester, June 3-5.

The Eagles 14-year-old All stars went 1-2 in the Eagan Tourney.

They lost to Eastview and Northfield and beathost Eagan 7-6.

The will also be in the Rochester Fest Tournament June 3-5.

The Reichel Foods, 12-year-old Austin All-Stars, opened play Saturday losing a twin bill to Byron.

The Reichel Foods Stars will start tourney play June 3-5 in Wayzata.

The VFW 13-year-old Stars were scheduled for a tourney in Albert Lea but that tourney was canceled.
