Austin All Stars open play

The Austin All Stars baseball program began its 38th year last weekend.

The Austin All Stars, CMG, who were in Woodbury, opened with a win over Rochester, but then lost Rosemount and Minneapolis.

Brenden Kennedy, who was six-for-six in the first two games, led CMG at the plate along with Riley Eickoff, Payton Ransom,Dakota Ritterath and Joe Schammel. Lathan Wilson, Mac Nelson and Dustin Copley shared mound duties.

The Eagles 14 Year old Austin All Stars, finished 1-2  as they lost to host

Prior Lake and Wayzata after starting play with an 8-7 win over Woodbury. The Eagles will be in the Albert Lea Tourney this weekend.

The VFW 13 year old All Stars went 0-3 in Big Lake, losing to Shoreview, Elk River and Andover.

Teygan Hovland, Sam Nelsen, Jed Nelson Ian Bundy and Cal Fox led the hitters.

The VFW Stars will now be idle until the first weekend in June.

The Reichel Foods 11 year old Austin All Stars will open this weekend with a doubleheader in Byron.
