The Spring Used Book Sale is getting closer, and organizers are ready to take donations.

The sale runs off donations, which will be accepted starting Tuesday and running through May 3. Organizers look for items such as children and adult books, DVDs, CDs, cassette tapes and other music in excellent condition. Donations can be left at the Austin Public Library on the tables by the meeting rooms.

The sale is set for May 6 and May 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the $5 bag sale from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at the library.

Joyce Goetz, Laura Tjomsland and Peggy Keener are co-chairing the sale. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the American Association of University Women. The money raised will support library programs and provide scholarships at Riverland Community College.
