Baseball: Rockets down Packers 5-1

The Austin baseball team struggled at the plate as it lost 5-1 to Rochester John Marshall (2-1 overall, 2-0 Big Nine in Rochester Thursday.

The Rockets had scored 21 runs in its first two games combined and they scored five runs in the first four innings against Austin (0-2 overall, 0-2 Big Nine). Jakob Crouch held JM to zero runs in the last two innings.

“They’re a patient hitting ball club,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said of JM. “They wait for their pitch and when they get it, they jump on it. They’re pitcher threw strikes and kept us off balanced.”
