ST. PAUL — St. Paul police are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man near University Avenue.

Officers were called late Saturday on a report of shots fired. Police arrived to find a wounded man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and looking for suspects. But police say the shooting does not appear random, and there is no risk to the public.

The name of the victim has yet to be released.
