2016 All-Herald Girls Basketball Team

FIRST TEAM
Haley Hungerholt, guard, LeRoy-Ostrander
The freshman, who is already a 1,000 point scorer, averaged 20.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 5.8 steals per game.
Carrie Rutledge, guard, Hayfield
The sophomore averaged 12.5 points, 3.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
Shayley Vesel, forward, Austin
The senior averaged 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game for the Packers. Vesel finished as a 1,000 career point scorer.
Sarah Holtz, forward, Lyle-Pacelli
The senior averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and 3 steals per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field. Holtz, who surpassed the 2,000 point and 1,000 rebound marks in her career, is set to play basketball and compete in track and field at Luther College next year.
Ruth Koang, center, Austin
The senior averaged 11 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
SECOND TEAM
Sydney Bendtsen, guard, Southland
The senior averaged 13 points, 3.4 assists, four rebounds and 4.5 steals per game as she was an all-around leader for the Rebels.
Brooke Walter, guard, Lyle-Pacelli
The sophomore averaged 11 points, four assists and four steals per game.
Maggie Streightiff, forward, Hayfield
The sophomore averaged 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and one steal per game, while shooting 48 percent from the field and 39 percent on three-pointers.
Sam Siskow, forward, LeRoy-Ostrander
The senior averaged 15.7 points, 11 rebounds and 2.8 steals. Siskow finished with 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds and she has committed to play basketball and volleyball at Waldorf College next season.
Rio Landers, center, Grand Meadow
The senior averaged 14.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 46 percent from the field and 70 percent on free throws.
HONORABLE MENTION
Courtney Walter, guard, Lyle-Pacelli
The senior averaged 10 points, four assists and three steals per game for LP.
Ashley Hawkshead, Austin
The senior provided a lot of defense and ball movement for the Packers, while averaging 8.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
Jordyn Glynn, guard, Grand Meadow
The versatile freshman averaged 12.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Kate Kruger, forward, Hayfield
The versatile sophomore averaged 6.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game for Hayfield.
Kristi Fett, center, Lyle-Pacelli
The sophomore averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game, while shooting 58 percent from the field.
Kaysie Allen, forward, Southland
The junior averaged six points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.
Kalyn Naatz, center, Blooming Prairie
The senior averaged 8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.2 steals per game for a very balanced BP squad.
Marissa Larson, forward, Blooming Prairie
The junior averaged 7.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
