Sharon Berg, 75, of St. Charles, Minnesota, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, 2016, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

Sharon was born Nov. 11, 1940, in Austin, Minnesota, to Carl and Dolores (Larson) Dopita. Sharon valued her education, graduating from Austin High School in 1958, Austin Junior College in 1959, and Mankato State in 1962, with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Sharon and Roger Berg were married July 7, 1962. They made their home in St. Charles where she taught third grade, retiring in 1998 after 37 years of teaching. Sharon enjoyed gambling at Hinckley, cooking, traveling, spending time with her granddaughters, and filling her pantry and freezer with her grocery “deals.”

Survivors include her husband Roger; a son Mike (Pam) Berg of St. Charles; a daughter Sue (Jon) Hoefs of Isanti; two granddaughters: Chloe and Gabby Hoefs; and a brother Steve (Bev) Dopita of Park City, Utah.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant Jenny Hoff. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date.
