A dusting of snow and some blustery winds are kicking off Mower County’s work week with a few white-knuckle driving situations, but it’s not as bad as weather forecasters once expected.
A blizzard warning in Mower County was downgraded to a winter weather advisory, which lasted until noon.
Conditions were bad enough to close Grand Meadow, Southland, Lyle and LeRoy-Ostrander schools.
A dusting of snow and blustery winds with gusts of 30 to 35 mph caused some roads to be partially covered this morning and has reduced visibilities.
Temperatures should dip tonight to 2 degrees. and highs will only reach single digits through Wednesday with wind chills dipping below zero and as low as minus 23.
