Ray Allen Olson, 58, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Adams Health Care Center.

Ray was born April 19, 1957, to LaVerne and Evon (Downs) Olson in Austin, Minnesota, where he grew up and received his education. After attending Austin High School, he made his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked various jobs. Ray enjoyed traveling, so he moved to South Dakota. He spent the last months of his life in Adams.

Ray is survived by his mother, Evon Troester of Austin, Minnesota; brother, Verne (Norma) Olson of Dexter, Minnesota; two sisters, Joyce (Mike) Moore of New Mexico, and Toy Olson of Austin, Minnesota; aunts, uncles; cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, LaVerne “Odie” Olson; stepfather, Robert Troester; brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Bernard.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Worlein Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
