Last spring, four Austin High School band students were selected to the highly selective and prestigious All-State Band. In addition to a week-long camp at St. Olaf College in August, these four instrumentalists recently spent two days honing their skills in Minneapolis, including a performance at Orchestra Hall. All-Staters for 2015-16 were Miranda Bergemann on clarinet, from left, Kyra Olson on clarinet, Arn Huizinga on trombone and Ian Bearden on clarinet. The students prepared their auditions under the direction of Bradley Mariska. All-State Band is sponsored by the Minnesota Music Educators Association.
