A Super Sunday blizzard

Southern Minnesota’s weather isn’t going to be very super on Super Bowl Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for Mower County from 7 p.m. Sunday through noon Monday.
A low pressure system is expected to bring colder temperatures and northwest winds gusts of up 35 to 45 mph. The winds could lead to drifting and whiteout conditions thanks to an expected 1-2 inches of snow in the region to go along with the roughly 7 inches that fell on the Austin area last Tuesday.
The weather service warns travel is likely to be severely impacted.
Winds will increase to 21 to 24 mph with gusts topping 36 mph in Austin Sunday night, and the winds should persist through Monday.
Monday’s high will be 18, and Tuesday and Wednesday’s high will be 12 degrees, as wind chills are expected to dip below zero every night through Wednesday.
