Harold Emil Eischens, 80, of Taopi, Minnesota, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
Harold was born in New Market, Minnesota, on Jan. 10, 1936, to Martin and Caroline (Schoenecker) Eischens. He was united in marriage to Katherine Pietsch on Feb. 16, 1955, in Farmington, Minnesota. Harold worked at Helgeson Construction in Blooming Prairie and Road Constructors, Inc. in Rochester.
He enjoyed going to auctions and playing cards with his buddies in Taopi, Adams, and Rose Creek. He loved to take Katherine on road trips and to take his grandkids fishing. After he retired, he had a lawn mowing business with his grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Terry; daughter-in-law Gina; great-grandson Weston; three brothers including his twin baby brother; and two sisters.
Harold is survived by his wife Katherine Eischens, Taopi, Minnesota; children: Gwen (Al) Swenson, Adams, Minnesota, Charlene (Charlie) Jax, Bloomington, Minnesota, daughter-in-law Kari Eischens, Taopi, Minnesota, Keith Eischens, Taopi, Minnesota, Butch (Nancy) Eischens; Dodge Center, Minnesota; Steve (Janice) Eischens, Taopi, Minnesota; Lynn Eischens, Brownsdale, Minnesota; and Peggy Nagele, Dexter, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brothers: Brother Ambrose Eischens, Indiana, Walter Eischens, Jordan, Minnesota; sister-in-law Ann Eischens, Prior Lake, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the Adams Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Taopi, Minnesota. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the Adams Funeral Home on Thursday for one hour before the service.
