The Austin boys swimming and diving team had state qualifiers in seven of the 12 events at the Section 1A meet in Inver Grove Heights Friday.

A total of six Packers will swim in the state meet as Austin advanced in all three relays.

Moving on to state are the 200-yard medley relay team of Kaleb Blaser, Zach Newman, Ben Walker and Mitch Mayer, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Seth Clasen, Walker, Mayer and Isaac Christopherson, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Walker, Clasen, Mayer and Christopherson.

Individually, Christopherson advanced to state in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles, Clasen advanced in the 50-yard freestyle, and Walker, Clasen and Mayer advanced in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Class A state swimming preliminaries will be held in the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis noon Friday and the finals will be held in the Aquatic Center noon Saturday.
