James Timothy “Tim” Jones of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home with his family on Jan. 4, 2016.

Tim was a Minnesota artist who taught art at Riverland Community College. He also enjoyed his family, camping, hiking and fishing.

Jones was preceded in death by parents, Wallace Otto and Myrtle Lula Jones.

He is survived by wife, Linda Elston; sons: Daniel Elston-Jones and Adam Jones; daughter, Meredith Elston-Jones; and grandson, Bryson Timothy Pool.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials can be used for a fine arts scholarship in memory of Tim’s passion for visual art.
