The LeRoy-Ostrander girls basketball team held on to beat Schaeffer Academy (4-10 overall, 2-8 SEC) 59-50 on the road Monday.

Freshman Haley Hungerholt had 22 points to lead the Cardinals (5-9 overall, 5-6 SEC) and senior Sam Siskow had 21 points.

LO led throughout the second half, but it was never able to break the game open.

“We played with spurts tonight. We let them hang around a little in the second half,” LO head coach Aaron Hungerholt said. “I thought we were in control, we just couldn’t really pull away.”
