Donald Wallace Evenson, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Austin.

Donald was born on Feb. 13, 1928, in Lanesboro, Minnesota, to Arnold and Julia (Benson) Evenson. He lived in Lanesboro until he was 11 years old and then moved to Austin, Minnesota. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1952 to 1954. Don worked at Hormel until his retirement.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Julia Evenson; his brothers and sister-in-law: Richard, Robert, and Orel (Geri) Evenson; and his sister and brother-in-law, Veryl (John) Finch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Paul Lutter officiating. Interment will be at the Lanesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be designated to the Salvation Army.
