In the midst of a cold winter season, the Austin dome is a retreat for the whole family. Since opening, the dome is utilized by community members of all ages to meet their physical wellness goals — a true asset to our community.
Protected from the cold and wind, the dome provides everyone a safe environment to walk, run, and play. In response to high interest, running is now allowed in the dome. In efforts to safely share the path, runners are asked to run in the opposite direction of the walkers. Walkers are asked to use the inner ‘lanes’ of the path whereas the outside ‘lanes’ of the path should be used by runners.
Continuing in February, the Packer dome will host “Open Dome” events for the community. The cost is $2 per person or $5 per family which includes activities and games offered all around the field area to play and enjoy. The February Open Dome dates and times include the following dates and times:
•Feb. 4 from 9 to 11 a.m.
•Feb. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.
•Feb. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m.
•Feb. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The dome hours for walking and running are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starting on Feb. 6, the Packer Dome will open on the weekends for walking and running from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
The dome facility is available for rental 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
