Myrtle Ione Bergstrom, 107, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at Sunset Manor in Waverly, Kansas.

Myrtle was born Nov. 26, 1907, in Ortonville, Minnesota, daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Chase) Cooper. She was joined in marriage to Gustaf Bergstrom in 1936 in Austin, Minnesota. To this union was born a son, Bruce. Myrtle was a member of the First Congregational Church in Austin, Minnesota. She moved to Lebo, Kansas, in 2001 to be closer to her son. She was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, golfer and enjoyed gardening.

She will be remembered by her son, Bruce (Millie) Bergstrom of Lebo, Kansas; six grandchildren: Eric (Suzanne) Bergstrom of Silverton Oregon, Eeron (Kate) Bergstrom of Austin, Minnesota, Adam (Allison) Bergstrom of Leavenworth, Washington, Sara (Rob) Brown of Centennial, Colorado, Brandy (Eddie) Gannon of Emporia, Kansas and Jacob (Cassie) Bergstrom of Evans, Colorado; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; a grandson, Larson Bergstrom; a brother, Arlo Cooper; two sisters: Dorothy Baldec and Florence Fuller.

A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo, Kansas. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota. Friends may greet the family at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary at 10 a.m. on Saturday until the time of the graveside service.
