Get to Know: Austin Packer Dance Team member Madaline Rohr

Madaline Rohr is a senior captain on the Austin Packer Dance Team. The Packers have competed in 13 straight state dance meets.
Age: 18
Q: How did you originally get into your sport?
A: My mom runs the Just For Kix in town, so I grew up with it in my family.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Winning sections last year on our home floor.
Q: What have you learned from playing sports?
A: That hard work and persistence pays off, even if you don’t get the hardware.
Q: What is the hardest part about your sport?
A: That we only get three minutes to show off our best skills as a team and prove ourselves to the judges.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: Jennifer Sims, simply because she put an incredible amount of effort into making dance a successful program in Austin. Without her knowledge and genuine love of the sport it wouldn’t be where it is today.

A: Friends

A: Math

A: Architect

A: Potatoes
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Wherever life takes me.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: Dance is an incredibly diverse sport with multiple different styles. What is competed at the high school level is only one of many.
