Clifford James Vincek, 84, of Austin, Minnesota, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.
He was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Sauk Center, Minnesota. Clifford grew up and attended school in Sauk Center before serving his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He made his home in Rochester and worked as a truck driver for various companies. He married Beverly Stewart at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After Beverly’s death in 1999, Clifford moved to Austin. He enjoyed time at the senior center, tinkering on many projects including latch hook and doing puzzles. He also liked to travel.
Survivors include his daughters: Sharon (Damon) Morgan of Austin, and Julie Allhiser of Austin; three grandchildren: Jami Allhiser, Amanda Reed and Bobbi Schlichter; seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Cory Allhiser; and his former wife Beverly Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with military honors by American Legion Post 91. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment is at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the family. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
