Cross country: Overby sets a new standard for Packers

Austin senior Madison Overby went six-for-six.

Overby clinched a trip to her sixth straight Class ‘AA’ state meet when she took 11th at the Section 1AA meet in Owatonna Thursday.

Overby is the first Austin cross country girls runner to make it to six straight state meets.

Overby will be joined at state by freshman Abby Lewis, who took 12th on Thursday to earn her second straight trip to state.

As a team, the Austin girls finished in sixth place out of 15 teams with a team score of 188. Red Wing won the meet with a 60.

The Austin boys took 15th place with a team score of 329. Rochester Century won the meet with a 68.
