Austin was as close as 15-12 in the fourth game after Jordan Huntley served three straight points, but the Falcons pulled away from that point.

“We just have to find a constant gear,” Austin head coach Cindy Owen said. “We can be really high and we can play really well and then we can hit some low spots. We just have to play really consistent.”

Ashley Hawkshead had nine kills for Austin, Kelsey Sederquest had 31 digs and Amber Hansen had 13 blocks.

Owen said the team is starting to come along.

“I’m very proud of the way the girls kept their composure tonight and that’s a battle we’ve been fighting for the last couple of years,” Owen said. “When there’s a mistake, they just have to keep on hitting. They were pleased with how they played as a team and the team aspect is starting to come into play, which is huge.”

Austin stats: Shayley Vesel, 6 points serving, 8 kills, 8 set assists, 5 blocks; Awenia Nywesh, 5 points serving; Lauryn Bell, 5 points serving, 3 set assists; Ashley Hawkshead, 9 kills, 3 blocks; Amber Hansen, 5 kills, 13 blocks; Kelsey Sederquest, 31 digs
