Austin Bruins drop opener to Bobcats

The Austin Bruins lost their first game of the season 6-3 to the Bismarck Bobcats on the road Friday.

Bismarck scored three goals in the second period to go up 4-1, but the Bruins pulled to within 4-3 when Griffin Slightam and Jan Stefka scored early in the third period.

The Bobcats put the game away with two late goals.

Jacob Berger had 25 saves in the loss for Austin.
