LANESBORO — The Commonweal Theatre, in Lanesboro, is excited to announce the addition of Sunday night performances of “Woody Guthrie’s American Song” during the month of September.

The 2015 season marks the first time in its 27-year history that the theatre has added extra weekend performances to the calendar.

“Woody Guthrie’s American Song” opened May 9 at the Commonweal.

Matthew Foster of Minnesota Playlist says that the production’s strongest suit is that, “Rather than the straight-up politics, it’s the joy and dignity of Guthrie’s work that shine brightest here.”

The special Sunday night performances are Sept. 13, 20 and 27 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Commonweal Theatre, 208 Parkway Ave. North, in downtown Lanesboro. Regular ticket price is $35 with select discounts available upon request.
