Teddy Gene Farrell, 75

Teddy Gene Farrell passed away on June 30, 2015. He suffered a severe heart attack while escorting a funeral procession in Bonita, California. He left this world doing what he loved most: riding his Harley. Ted will be greatly missed.
Ted was born April 22, 1940, in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, to Larry J. Farrell and Florence M. (Maher) Farrell. He grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and graduated from Austin High School in 1958. Ted married Diane Warren on May 31, 1965, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Together, they resided in Escondido, California. He worked for the Escondido Police Department and the Miramar Naval Airbase. After retiring from Miramar, he worked part-time as a funeral escort for the California Motor Patrol. A lifetime member of the Victor McLaglen Motorcycle Corps, he loved riding and fixing motorcycles. He also enjoyed drawing cartoons, mostly of family members and friends, which ended up on his annual Christmas card.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Florence Farrell; brothers: Dale, John William, William John, Ronald, Jack, and Russell; and son, Warren Farrell.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Farrell, Escondido, California; sons: Larry Farrell, Escondido, California, Lanny (Kathi) Farrell, Shoreview, Minnesota, Terry Farrell, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; daughter, Tristy (Randy) Engholm, Brainerd, Minnesota; siblings: Donna, Geri (Roger), Dennis (Ann), Elmer (Marilyn), Charlotte (Dennis); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
As Ted wished, he was cremated on July 10, 2015, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido, California. A celebration of life and potluck will take place at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Todd Park, Pavilion No. 3, in Austin, Minnesota. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the wonderful life Ted lived. Please bring a dish to share for the potluck.
