Westfall

Alice Lorraine Hanks was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Winnebago, Minnesota, to Howard and Ethel (Buck) Hanks. After moving to LeRoy, she met Robert Westfall. They were married June 25, 1947. After their marriage they made their home in Racine, Minnesota. In 1959, they moved to Dexter where they farmed most of their married life.  Lorraine was a homemaker and for several years worked for Seneca Foods.

Music was a large part of Lorraine’s life, she was the pianist for the Dexter United Methodist Church for over 30 years and was active in the Chatfield Brass Band and the Stewartville Community Band. While she enjoyed traveling, she also spent time visiting with friends and loved having company. Her love of people made her a great volunteer with different organizations. Much time was spent sewing quilts, watching her Minnesota Twins play and she never turned down an offer to tag along on a fishing trip or to cheer for her grandchildren’s sports events.  Lorraine was active in the church choir, Women’s Circles and Bible studies.
