E3 holding event Thursday

Student scientists will show off their skills this Thursday.

Students from Albert Lea, Austin, Hayfield, Southland, and Lyle school districts will share all of their learning on from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday with a Conservation Celebration at I.J. Holton Intermediate School.

These students are part of Project E3, an inter-district weekend and summer enrichment initiative through the partnership of the Alliance for Educational Equity Committee and Gifted and Talented Services. The purpose of Project E3 is to provide equity of opportunity for students with demonstrated high-ability to have access to complex, in-depth instruction. Project E3 nurtures the development of the students’ ability so they are able to access other advanced academic options later in their school experience.

This year, learning focused all around water conservation. From water pollution, erosion, macro invertebrates, water towers, to our water footprint, students have learned a great deal about the importance of quality water supplies as well as our responsibility to keep it clean.

At the Conservation Celebration, students will use their talents to share what they have learned in creative and original ways. Parents and school officials will be invited to join in the celebration as well. For any questions about the event, contact David Wolff, Coordinator of Project E3, at 507-460-1912.
