CRC’s Randy Ambrus named Manager of the Year

A Cooperative Response Center Inc. (CRC) announced that Randy Ambrus, central station manager at its Austin facility, was awarded the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) Central Station Manager of the Year on Thursday, June 25, in Baltimore, Maryland.
CSAA announced the award at the Industry Excellence Awards Breakfast at the Electronic Security Exposition (ESX) show in Baltimore. Sponsored by SDM Magazine, the CSAA Excellence Awards recognize outstanding FM Global, Intertek/ETL or Underwriter Laboratories (UL)-listed central stations and their personnel. As a CSAA member and a UL-listed central station, CRC was eligible to submit nominations for the following categories: CSAA Central Station Operator of the Year, CSAA Central Station Support Person of the Year, CSAA Central Station Manager of the Year, and CSAA Central Station of the Year.
In addition to Ambrus’s achievement, CRC’s Tiffany Miller, central station team lead, was named as a finalist for Central Station Operator of the Year.

CRC selects board members, officers
Cooperative Response Center Inc. (CRC) announced the results of its recent Board of Directors election following its 22nd annual membership meeting held June 8 in Chicago, Illinois,
Pre-meeting elections selected the directors to serve as part of CRC’s nine-member board.
Board members re-elected to three-year terms are Larry Fenbers, general manager/CEO of Carroll Electric Cooperative in Carrollton, Ohio, as a District 2 director; Kevin Murphy, president of Southwest Tennessee EMC in Brownsville, Tennessee, as a district 3 director; and Jim Hathaway, general manager/CEO of Dunn Energy Cooperative in Menomonie, Wisconsin, as an at-large (any district) director. Randy Crenshaw, general manager of Irwin EMC in Ocilla, Georgia, and Middle Georgia EMC in Vienna, Ga., is new to CRC’s board and was elected as a district 3 director to a one-year term.
CRC selects officers
After the annual meeting, CRC’s Board of Directors met and selected the following officers to serve on its executive committee:
Chairwoman: Brenda Swartzlander, president and CEO of United Electric Cooperative in DuBois, Pa., leads a 19,000-consumer electric cooperative that operates in parts of 10 counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. Swartzlander has served as the board’s chairwoman since 2011.
Vice Chairman: Neil Hesse, general manager of Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association in Muenster, Texas, leads a 15,500-meter electric cooperative that operates in five counties in northeastern Texas. Hesse has served as board vice chair since 2014. 2
Secretary: Recently re-elected Fenbers leads a 12,100-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six eastern Ohio counties. Fenbers has served as board secretary since 2014.
Treasurer: Tim Stewart, CEO/general manager of Clark Electric Cooperative in Greenwood, Wisconsin, leads an 8,500-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six counties in central Wisconsin. Stewart has served as board treasurer since 2011.
