Accused meth dealer pleads not guilty

A 25-year-old Austin man has pleaded not guilty to selling and possessing more than 150 grams of methamphetamine.

Moises Cayetano Rodriguez is charged with first-degree sale of drugs and first-degree drug possession.

According to court records, Rodriguez allegedly sold .5 ounces of meth, or about 17 grams, to an informant on June 19 for about $600. Rodriguez also gave the informant about 5 ounces of meth — about 142 grams — to hold for a bit.

Police secured a search warrant for Rodriguez’z home at the Rodeway Inn in Austin and later arrested him as he left the motel. Officers found the $600 used to buy meth on Rodriguez.

His next court appearance is Oct. 2.
