8 arrested for Louis Vuitton theft after freeway chase

EDINA — Eight men accused of lifting $20,000 in merchandise from a Louis Vuitton store in Edina are in custody following an interstate chase.
Police were called to the crime scene in an upscale shopping center about 10 a.m. Wednesday. The robbery suspects took designer handbags. A citizen who saw the men jump in a van and leave called police.
The Minnesota State Patrol following the van by air while officers from Bloomington, Edina, Richfield and Woodbury gave chase on the ground. A bystander’s vehicle was hit during the chase, but no one was hurt.
Police say the suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 38, tossed the merchandise from the van during the chase. They were eventually arrested and taken to the Hennepin County Jail.
