Jane Taylor dancers set for Saturday recital

Students at the Jane Taylor Academy of Dance are about to conclude a busy season.

The academy’s 51st annual recital will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Austin High School’s Knowlton Auditorium,

Tickets are $6 and will be sold at the door. Flower sale proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

This past season, the team from Jane Taylor Academy of Dance presented the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with over a $400 donation.

This past season, the dancers competed at three competitions and were awarded fourth and fifth place high score overall for Senior Division duet for Joseph Seeman and Levi Seeman, two seventh place high score overall for Senior Division duet (Jacy Hansen and Madison Hasley), two special awards and ninth place overall Senior Division solo going to Betsy Ettinger, eighth place high score overall in Junior Division (Junior Company jazz), and ninth place overall Senior Division large group going to Performing Company Lyrical. In addition, the dancers received two platinum awards, 11 high gold awards, three gold awards and a high silver award. At Starpower, scored on a scale of five stars, six routines scored 4 3/4 Stars and two routines scored 4 1/2 Stars.

Students competing were: Betsy Ettinger, Laura Ferguson, Dorothy Stevens, Aidan Eastlee, Autumn Engesser, Madison Hasley, Jacy Hansen, Jordan Harmon, Levi Seeman, Joseph Seeman, Chase Peterson, Micha Weber, Lauren Riskedahl, Emily Conroy, Siri Ansorge, Ashley Augustin, Molly Berglund, Rachel Engelstad, Kaitlyn Riskedahl, Bianca Herrera, Piper Kellner, Emma Haugen and Kate Oelfke.
