ST. PAUL — GMLOKS senior McKenzie Kirtz missed out on the 800-meter run finals by less than a second at the Minnesota Class A state track and field preliminaries in Hamline University Friday.

Kirtz finished with a time of 2:19.42 and she finished in 10th place. Kritz’s prelim time was two seconds faster than her qualifying time, but she was .05 of a second from reaching the finals.

Kirtz will run in the 1600-meter run Saturday at Hamline.
