Gaylord N. Mudra, 88, of Rochester, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, of natural causes, at Cottagewood Senior Living in Rochester, where he had resided since September of 2009.

Gaylord Norris Mudra was born on Aug. 8, 1926, in rural Mower County, Minnesota, to William and Luella (VanPelt) Mudra. He grew up in Austin and attended school there. He entered the U.S. Army during WWII and served overseas. Following his discharge, he returned to the family farm in rural Sargent, Minnesota, where he farmed for a number of years. He moved to Stewartville with his mother when she was employed at the High Forest Truck Stop. Following her retirement, they continued to live in Stewartville. Mrs. Mudra died on July 18, 2008. Gaylord enjoyed going out to eat with his mother, going to new movies at the local movie theaters and liked driving Ford Mustangs.

Gaylord is survived by several cousins in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington and Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The burial will take place at the Bohemian Cemetery in rural Freeborn County will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. There are no services or visitation. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville, www.griffin-gray.com.
