Graduations

—Lauren Christine Thompson of Austin was recognized during the 2015 Augustana College Commencement ceremony on May 23 held at the Sioux Falls Arena.

—Air Force Airman 1st Class Zachary T. Nelson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Nelson is the son of Paula and Rodney Nelson and grandson of Larry and Maxian Nelson of Lewiston, Minnesota. He is also the brother of Sean Nelson. The airman graduated in 2012 from Lewiston-Altura High School, Lewiston, Minnesota, and he earned an associate degree in 2014 from Riverland Community College, Austin, Minnesota.

Gustavus Adolphus College

The following students were among graduated with bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College during the school’s annual commencement exercises on May 31:

President’s/dean’s list

—Zachary Royston from LeRoy was named to the Upper Iowa University 2014-15 spring dean’s list.

—Madeline Kraemer of Austin was named to the president’s list for the Benedictine College spring 2015 semester, which ended in May. Kraemer is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kraemer.

—Kristen Carlson of Austin has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2014-2015 academic year at Augustana College.

—Joshua Jacobs of Austin made the 2015 Spring Semester deans list at the University of North Dakota.

Minnesota State University, Moorhead

The following students have been named to the Minnesota State University, Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement spring semester 2015.
