Thomson was an executive of Hormel Foods, Corp who embezzled more than $1 million dollars in the early part of the 1900s to build an agricultural empire and entertainment center, Oak Dale Park, near LeRoy.

The event will coincide with the 100th anniversaries of the First State Bank Minnesota and the LeRoy Public Library this summer. Jerry Barber is this year’s speaker along with Dikkon Eberhart who is publishing an upcoming book telling of his grandfather’s connection to the Hormel side of the Thomson story when he was caught.

There will also be tours of the Oak Dale site as well as Sweet’s Hotel, weather permitting. Admission is one dime, the same as Thomson charged at the gate for a full day’s entertainment at Oak Dale Park.
