MINNEAPOLIS — Officials are investigating why a small plane caught fire at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Airport spokeswoman Melissa Scovronski says nobody was inside the single-engine plane, and no one was hurt when the fire started just before 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Firefighters extinguished it within minutes.

The plane was in an area where for private planes and corporate jets are based.
